BOONVILLE- Quite a few folks have been asking where the reindeer went.

The Boonville Area Chamber of Commerce is in charge of helping provide the annual reindeer display in the village park, but unfortunately this-year, they had to go back to the North Pole early.

The Chamber stated in a Facebook post that one of the Reindeer had somehow suffered a leg injury. With that said, another source told us that it is better to have both reindeer on display rather than one, because they tend to become stressed out if left by themselves.

"They are staying home for the rest of the season," the Chamber reiterated in their social media post. "The care and compassion that goes into farmers for their animals is above and beyond."

Though the reindeer were unfortunately short lived this season, families are reminded that Santa Claus will still be available for the kids to come and visit.

His hours at the little Christmas house (located right next to where the reindeer pen is set up in the village park across the street from the Chamber) will be from 1:00 - 4:00 p.m. Saturday, December 6 & 13; 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. Sunday, December 14; 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Friday, December 19; Noon to 4:00 p.m. Saturday, December 20 and 1:00 - 4:00 p.m. Sunday, December 21.

After that, Santa will have to head back to the North Pole to get ready for his Christmas Eve run.
