On Friday, December 5, 2025, local agriculture figure, Ben Simons, joined North Country News and discussed the latest approval of the 2026 fiscal year budget for Oneida County.

Specifically, Mr. Simons focused on the 2.9 percent increase to the property tax levy for the first time in 13 years and how it may end up impacting the local farming community in Oneida County.
