NYSP: Crash in Newport results in DWI charges against local resident

NEWPORT- A property damage wreck in Herkimer County has resulted in DWI charges filed against a local resident.

Kyleen Potempa, 41, of Cold Brook, NY was arrested on Sunday night by the New York State Police (Herkimer) for one count each of aggravated DWI and DWI.

According to Troopers, these charges stem from complaints of a property damage crash in the village of Newport, which was reported shortly before 9:30 p.m.

At press time, police said an investigation was still pending. Meanwhile, Potempa was issued with an appearance ticket.
