LOWVILLE & TOWN OF WESTERN- The local sex offender recently accused of trying to lure three children to his vehicle was just arrested again over the weekend for allegedly failing to meet obligations as a registered sex offender on the registry.

As reported last-week, Dwayne Edwin Kirk, 58, of Boonville, NY was charged by the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office with a misdemeanor of stalking in the fourth-degree, but was released, which sparked an outrage on social media.

Though the Sheriff’s Office listed his address for Boonville, Kirk technically resided in the Southern edge of Lewis County on the Bailey Road.

With that said, investigators with the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office reportedly noticed that Kirk was allegedly not residing at the address he had registered with the sex offender registry.

According to the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office, Kirk’s address was supposed to be in the town of Western, but instead had been residing just north of Boonville since the end of December.

On Friday, Kirk was located in the village of Lowville, NY and taken into police custody.

Kirk, a level three sex offender, was charged with a felony for failing to register a change of address and remanded to the Oneida County Jail, without bail.
