BOONVILLE- A domestic incident this week in Northern Oneida County has resulted in charges filed against a local resident, authorities say.
Hal C. Pickering Jr., 21, of Boonville, NY was arrested by the Sheriff’s Office on Wednesday. Pickering is formally charged with a misdemeanor count of unlawful imprisonment and a violation of harassment in the second-degree.
Deputies say the arrest stems from an alleged domestic dispute on Tuesday evening. It reportedly occurred at an address on State Route 294, where Pickering was involved in a physical altercation.
Police say that Pickering prevented the victim from fleeing the address.
Later on, Pickering was located at Tops Friendly Market in Camden, NY, where he was taken into custody.
Pickering was later released on his own recognizance, while an order of protection was issued on behalf of the victim.
There were no further details provided.
