ON-AIR SEGMENT: Lewis County Sheriff Mike Carpinelli shares insight on latest lawsuit filed against state by 15 Sheriffs challenging restrictions with ICE - part two

LOWVILLE- On Tuesday, September 29, 2026, Lewis County Sheriff, Mike Carpinelli, joined North Country News to share insight on a lawsuit that has been filed by numerous sheriffs statewide against Governor Hochul and Attorney General James.

Carpinelli is among 15 sheriffs so far who have joined in on this lawsuit, which challenges the Local Cops, Local Crimes Act’s ban on 287(g) agreements with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
