ONEIDA COUNTY- A Mohawk Valley man is faced with numerous felony sex offense accusations, authorities say.

Michael E. Fox, 44, of Rome, NY is officially charged with five A-II felony counts of predatory sexual abuse against a child; along with three counts of felony rape in the first-degree; two felony counts of criminal sex act in the first-degree; two felony counts of sex abuse in the first-degree; one felony count of attempted rape in the first-degree and one misdemeanor count of endangering the welfare of a child – all according to a news release from the New York State Police.

These charges have all been organized via a grand jury indictment, which was presented last month.

Authorities say the investigation began this past March. It’s alleged that Fox sexually abused a female under the age of 17.

The abuse took place for over a year, specifically between the winter of 2020 and summer of 2021.

Once the Oneida County DA’s Office presented the case to the grand jury and the indictment was revealed, an arrest warrant was issued for Fox’s arrest Thursday.

He was taken into custody and held at the Oneida County Jail for centralized arraignment.

The investigation was executed in partnership with the Oneida County Child Advocacy Center.
