PINCKNEY- Local emergency responding teams worked together over the weekend in rescuing an individual who fell into a Lewis County gorge.
It was around 1:45 p.m. Saturday, July 8 when 9-1-1 dispatchers were made aware of a 20-year old person from Fort Drum, NY who had fallen into the gorge at Inman Gulf, Tug Hill State Forest.
New York State Forest Rangers responded and helped coordinate a rope system.
With efforts thanks to the Sheriff’s Office, Search & Rescue, Adams Center and Rodman Fire Departments, the person was safely raised to the top.
The person was examined by EMS crews on scene. No specific injuries were reported.
