
CROGHAN- A resident from the Mohawk Valley is accused of intoxicated driving in Lewis County after running off from the road and into a snowbank.
On Monday, January 26, the Sheriff’s Office arrested Andrew Nichols, 33, of New York Mills, NY for DWI.
Deputies say Nichols was driving on State Route 126 in the town of Croghan and went off the road and into a snowbank, causing the vehicle to become disabled.
Nichols ended up agreeing to and then failing field sobriety tests on scene before being taken to the Public Safety Building.
During processing, police said Nichols registered a .18% BAC.
Nichols was issued with appearance tickets, which are all returnable to Croghan Town Court at a later date.
Members of the New York State Police and Wolff’s Body Shop all assisted.
