STATE POLICE UPDATE: Teen in fatal snowmobile accident near Hinckley identified

HERKIMER COUNTY- The teenage victim in Monday evening’s fatal snowmobile accident just north of Hinckley Reservoir has been identified.

According to New York State Police Investigators, Rykah J. Lyons, 16, of Remsen, NY was heading south on a secondary trail near the Riggerman Road in the town of Russia.

This is when Lyons lost control of the sled before veering off and into a tree. Lyons was pronounced deceased on scene by emergency responders.

State Police received assistance from North Star Ambulance and Barneveld Fire Department.

State Police send their condolences to the family and friends during this difficult time.
