
LEWIS COUNTY- Eight people, including emergency personnel and a bystander, were all honored for their heroic efforts, which ended up saving a local family from a burning house earlier this spring in Lewis County.
According to the latest from WWNY-TV, Dustin Groff was presented with a Life Saving Award during on Monday night during a Denmark Town Board meeting.
Groff is recognized for grabbing ladders to help family members escape the blazing house.
In addition, two Beaver Falls Firefighters, two West Carthage Fire Fighters, one State Trooper and two Sheriff’s Deputies all received the same honor.
The home was a total loss, but it is reported that there are plans in place to rebuild the home the Buchal family has lived in for over 50-years.
