ROME- The U.S. Vice President made an appearance locally Monday in a last second campaign rally for New York’s 21st Congressional District before the mid-terms Tuesday.
Vice President JD Vance was accompanied by Donald Trump Jr. to campaign for Republican Congressional Candidate, Anthony Constantino.
According to the latest publications from WWNY-TV, Vice President Vance spoke mostly about values, while also assuring constituents that the Trump administration has their best interests in mind.
The Vice President went on to compare Mr. Constantino to President Trump under the context of being “cut from the same cloth” and not being owned by donors.
At one point during the rally, the Vice President apologized for his choice of words while taking swipes at Constantino’s Democratic challenger, Blake Gendebien.
Mr. Gendebien’s campaign team issued this statement in response to Monday’s campaign rally: “Republicans won this seat by 24 points 2 years ago. Now they’re flying in Vance and President Trump’s son to bail out a candidate who spent the campaign chasing stunts instead of answering for $6 diesel and Medicaid cuts closing hospitals,” Gendebien said.
The winner between Constantino and Gendebien will replace current Rep. Elise Stefanik, who has been at the helm of NY-21 since first being elected over a decade ago.
