TRENTON- State Route 12 has re-opened in the wake of an explosion Friday evening at a locally renowned diner in Oneida County, emergency officials confirm.

It was just before 8:15 p.m. when 9-1-1 dispatch received the first wave of calls regarding an explosion at Cindy’s Diner, 9250 State Route 12, town of Trenton, between the villages of Remsen and Barneveld, NY.

According to emergency officials, Barneveld was the primary Fire Department on scene, with mutual aid thanks to Floyd, Holland Patent, Remsen and Stittville.

Members from the State Police, Sheriff’s Office and STaR Ambulance also responded.

These are just the initial details that have surfaced, as we have yet to receive any specific developments, including how the explosion may have occurred.

As of this report, we are not aware of any injuries and Barneveld Fire Department confirms that no foul play is suspected.
