Senator Joe Griffo on New York's Foundation Aid Formula for Schools: "We have to look at revising"

ALBANY, NY- Nearly half of New York's school districts statewide may lose significant support in critical foundation aid.

This is one of the latest developments from this legislative session  in Albany, as the Governor recently proposed the Fiscal Year 2025 State Budget.

"And while I commend the commitment to foundation aid formula, which many school districts like, I think we also have to look at revising that formula," Senator Griffo told us during an interview Thursday. Listen to our latest on-air segment from Monday, January 29, 2024:

Several lawmakers statewide are noting the potential loss of such aid could be very harmful to school districts, especially rural ones.
