Snowmobile complaint in Turin results in charge filed against Canadian resident

TURIN- A resident from Canada is accused of falsely reporting an incident in Lewis County, authorities say.

Francis J. Ottenhof, 49 of Odessa, Ontario was arrested Monday evening by the New York State Police (Lowville). Ottenhof is formally charged with one misdemeanor count of falsely reporting to law enforcement an incident that did not occur.

According to Troopers, the arrest stems from a reported snowmobile complaint on December 22 in the town of Turin.

At press time, police said that an investigation was pending. Meanwhile, Ottenhof was issued with an appearance ticket.
