
TURIN- Authorities from the South Lewis Central School District have released a statement in the wake of an evacuation Tuesday.
According to a release from the district office, there was an "unknown object of concern" located on campus.
Although the object was ultimately determined not be to a threat to students and/or staff members, the school followed its protocol and evacuated everyone who was on campus at the time.
Evening activities were cancelled as an extra measure of caution, the district said.
As of this report, the object in question, which was removed from the scene by authorities, is still unknown.
School officials said this incident occurred after students were dismissed for the day as normal.
The school would like to thank members who assisted. District officials said they look forward to a normal return of activities today.
