State Police: Poland resident charged with felony identity theft

SALISBURY- A resident from the Kuyahoora Valley area is faced with a felony offense in the wake of a fraud investigation in Herkimer County, authorities say.

Christine M. Childs, 37, of Poland, NY was arrested Wednesday afternoon by the New York State Police (Herkimer). Childs is officially charged with one felony count of identity theft in the first-degree.

Troopers say this arrest was made in the wake of complaints filed in early March in the town of Salisbury.

At press time, police said Childs was released.

There were no additional details available to report.
