FOR LEWIS COUNTY-...LAKE EFFECT SNOW WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 4 AM EST

MONDAY...

* WHAT...Heavy lake effect snow. Additional snow accumulations of
  5 to 10 inches in the most persistent lake snows over southern
  Lewis county into this evening. Winds gusting as high as 35
  mph.

* WHERE...Lewis county.

* WHEN...Until 4 AM EST Monday.

* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult to impossible. Areas
  of blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Heavy snow will fall in relatively narrow bands. If traveling, be
prepared for rapidly changing road conditions and visibilities.

FOR N.ONEIDA COUNTY-...LAKE EFFECT SNOW WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 4 AM EST
MONDAY...

* WHAT...Heavy lake effect snow expected. Total snow accumulations
  of 12 to 18 inches with as much as 22 inches around and northwest
  of Camden.

* WHERE...Northern Oneida county.

* WHEN...Until 4 AM EST Monday.

* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult to impossible.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Heavy snowfall rates of 2 to 3 inches per
  hour are expected. Rates will decrease this evening as the snow
  lifts northward. Snow will quickly accumulate on roadways,
  making traveling difficult to impossible. Strong wind gusts will
  result in blowing snow and whiteout conditions.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in
your vehicle in case of an emergency.

FOR NORTHERN HERKIMER COUNTY-...LAKE EFFECT SNOW WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 4 AM EST
MONDAY...

* WHAT...Heavy lake effect snow expected. Total snow accumulations
  of 3 to 11 inches, with the greatest amounts located between the
  New York State Thruway and Route 8. Winds gusting as high as 45
  mph.

* WHERE...Herkimer County.

* WHEN...Until 4 AM EST Monday.

* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult. Areas of blowing
  snow could significantly reduce visibility. Gusty winds could
  bring down tree branches in southern Herkimer County.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Snowfall rates may reach 1 to 2 inches per
  hour within the most intense portion of the snowband. The
  snowband should develop across north central Herkimer County
  early this morning, then shift southward into south central
  Herkimer County by mid to late morning, and into southern
  Herkimer County during this afternoon.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in
your vehicle in case of an emergency.

FOR JEFFERSON COUNTY-...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 PM EST THIS
EVENING......LAKE EFFECT SNOW WARNING IS CANCELLED...

* WHAT...Snow, mainly later tonight. Areas of blowing and drifting snow.
  Additional snow accumulations of up to 2 inches. Winds gusting
  as high as 40 mph.

* WHERE...Jefferson county.

* WHEN...Until 7 PM EST this evening.

* IMPACTS...Plan on slippery road conditions. Areas of blowing
  snow could significantly reduce visibility.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Periods of snow will result in snow covered roads and limited
visibilities. Slow down and use caution while driving.
