
DENMARK- A local teenager was airlifted to a Syracuse, NY area hospital in the wake of a collision between a car and an ATV in Lewis County, emergency officials say.
It happened shortly before 6:30 p.m. last Friday on State Route 26, town of Denmark.
Sheriff's Office investigation suggests that Jillian A. Chetuck, 27, of Natural Bridge, NY was driving southeast in a 2000 Nisan Altima. Meanwhile, deputies said a 16-year-old teenager from Denmark, NY was operating a 2008 Polaris machine.
Heading in an easterly direction, police said the teen tried to cross State Route 26, but was struck by Chetuck.
The teen was ejected upon impact and suffered unspecified injuries to his legs.
The teen received treatment on scene and was taken to Lowville Hospital. From there, the teen was flown to SUNY Upstate Medical Center.
