TURIN- A teenager suffered a leg injury in an ATV roll-over accident in Lewis County.

The Sheriff’s Office says it happened shortly after 9:00 a.m. Monday on Carpenter Road, town of Turin.

Two machines were involved, investigators clarified. A pair of teens, ages 15 and 16 from Taberg and Camden, NY were operating the ATV, which was registered to Andrew R. Joyce, 45, of Camden, NY.

Joyce was driving a 2013 Polaris UTV when he noticed the left-rear-wheel on the ATV was coming off.

He raced up next to the teens in an attempt to prevent a roll-over, but despite his efforts, the machine did roll and cause injuries to both teens.

One was taken to Lowville Hospital with a leg injury, while the other received evaluation and signed-off. Mr. Joyce refused treatment and signed-off.

Turin Fire Department and Lyons Falls Ambulance assisted.
