Toddler flown to SUNY Upstate in wake of Oneida County ATV accident

FLOYD- A toddler was flown to a Syracuse, NY area hospital after being ejected off from an ATV Tuesday in Oneida County.

It happened shortly before 1:00 p.m. on Koenig Road, town of Floyd.

The Sheriff’s Office says Alexandria Loomis, 25, was driving an ATV north and lost control. She subsequently crossed over the roadway.

Loomis and the 2-year-old boy were ejected from the machine.

Deputies said the toddler was airlifted to SUNY Upstate Medical Center and treated for serious, but non-life threatening injuries. Meanwhile, Loomis was taken to St. Elizabeth’s Hospital for treatment and further evaluation.

Specific injuries were not described for either victims.

As of this report, police have issued no citations, however; the incident remains under investigation.

New York State Police, Floyd Fire Department, AmCare Ambulance and Mercy Flight all assisted.
