Traffic stop results in Lowville meth bust on Dayan Street, Village Police Chief says

LOWVILLE- A traffic stop this week resulted in a meth bust.

Chief of the Village Police Department Daryl R. Ortlieb says patrols executed a traffic stop on Dayan Street on Wednesday.

Police say they witnessed the driver, Amber Howland, 42, of Watertown, NY commit a traffic violation.

At the time of the traffic stop, there were two more passengers in the vehicle. They have been identified as Shawn Edick, 43, of Watertown, NY and Michael White, 33 of Ohio.

Police investigation determined that both Howland and Edick allegedly possessed an unspecified quantity of meth, along with a smoking device. Meanwhile, police also determined that White reportedly possessed approximately 10-grams of crystal meth and packaging material.

At press time, police said that Howland and Edick were issued appearance tickets for criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh-degree, while White was charged with felony criminal possession of a controlled substance in the fifth-degree (w/intent to sell) and issued with an appearance ticket.

All charges are returnable to Lowville Town Court at a later date.
