Twelve Year Old Killed in UTV Accident in the Town of Lyonsdale

TOWN OF LYONSDALE-A 12 year old child from Rushville, NY  died  Saturday afternoon  following an UTV accident in the Town of Lyonsdale. Lewis County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to reports of an unconscious child on Moose River Road. Following an investigation, it was determined that the operator lost control of the UTV during a solo ride after failing to make a turn. The vehicle rolled over, ejecting the operator, then striking the operator causing serious injuries.  The child was transported by ambulance to the Port Leyden Fire department and died while awaiting transport. No further details were released. Deputies were assisted by members of the Boonville Ambulance, New York State Forest Rangers, and Unlimited Collision.
