Two Jefferson County residents charged for criminally possessing a controlled substance in West Carthage

WEST CARTHAGE- Two Jefferson County residents are faced with charges, including possessing a controlled substance, following reports of an incident early Monday in the North Country, authorities say.

Nikita M. Levalley, 34, and Cody L. Davis, 29, both of Watertown, NY were arrested shortly after 3:30 a.m. by the New York State Police (Carthage). Both are charged with one misdemeanor count each of criminally possessing a controlled substance in the seventh-degree.

In addition, Davis is charged with a misdemeanor count of aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle in the third-degree.

Troopers say these charges were filed in the village of West Carthage, NY.

At press time, police said an investigation was pending. Levalley and Davis were both issued with appearance tickets.

There were no further details provided to report.
