UPDATE: State Police say victim was flown to SUNY Upstate following Boonville stabbing

BOONVILLE- Investigators with the New York State Police have released an update regarding an incident early Friday in the town of Boonville.

As reported Friday afternoon, Jeffrey R. Lawson, 28, of Boonville, NY was arrested and charged with felony assault in the second-degree and criminally possessing a weapon in the fourth-degree.

Authorities say these charges stem from a stabbing. It happened shortly after midnight Friday on Fox Court. Police responded to a 7024 address.

When Troopers arrived on scene, they found a 35-year-old man who was reportedly stabbed numerous times – suffering wounds to his head, back, abdomen and left leg.

The victim was flown to SUNY Upstate Medical Center and his injuries were ultimately described as non-life threatening.

Lawson was located at the scene and was taken into custody, without incident.

He was taken to the Oneida County Jail to await arraignment.
