BOONVILLE- Authorities have arrested and charged the suspect allegedly responsible for destroying a glass barber shop pole in northern Oneida County.

Matthew R. Kratzenberg, 28, of Boonville, NY was arrested by the Oneida County Sheriff's Office Thursday. He is formally charged with felony criminal mischief in the third-degree.

Investigators say Kratzenberg is accused of intentionally smashing Sattler's Barber Shop pole on Main Street. It reportedly happened back in February and the damage exceeded $250, hence the felony count.

The arrest stems from a two-weeks-long investigation, with assistance via the Boonville Police Department.

In addition, the Sheriff's Office says they received numerous tips from the public after releasing video footage next-door from where the incident took place.

Although the footage didn't actually show the barber pole being smashed, it did reveal two individuals walking towards the Hulbert House only a moment after viewers can hear the sound of glass shattering nearby.

Kratzenberg was issued an appearance ticket, which is returnable to Boonville Town Court at a later date.
