JEFFERSON COUNTY- An update has surfaced in the wake of a North Country stabbing case this week, authorities are reporting.
Investigators say a 16-year-old teenage suspect has been formally charged with assault in the second-degree and criminally possessing a weapon in the fourth-degree for stabbing a 48-year-old male victim in the chest in Carthage, NY.
The village police department originally said the incident occurred on Monday at 600 South Washington Street. A name for the teenage suspect was not provided, due to their age.
The teen appeared in Jefferson County Court for arraignment.
Furthermore, police charged Danielle Plumadore, 47, of Carthage, NY with endangering the welfare of a child. Plumadore was issued with an appearance ticket.
As for the victim, authorities said earlier this week that he last in stable condition at SUNY Upstate Medical Center.
Members from the New York State Police; West Carthage Police Department; Carthage Fire Department and Carthage Area Rescue Squad all assisted.
