FOR LEWIS AND JEFFERSON COUNTIES-...LAKE EFFECT SNOW WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 7 AM FRIDAY TO 7 PM EST MONDAY... * WHAT...Heavy lake effect snow expected. Total snow accumulations 3 to 4 feet in the most persistent lake snows. The highest snow accumulations are expected between Watertown and the northern slopes of the Tug Hill plateau. * WHERE...The Eastern Lake Ontario Region. * WHEN...From 7 AM Friday to 7 PM EST Monday. * IMPACTS...Travel will be very difficult to impossible within the heaviest portion of the band. The hazardous conditions will impact the Friday morning and evening commutes. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... During lake effect snow, the weather can vary from bands of locally heavy snow with greatly reduced visibilities to dry conditions just a few miles away. Be prepared for rapid changes in weather, visibility, and road conditions. Consider delaying travel. If you must travel, drive with extreme caution. Leave plenty of room between you and the motorist ahead of you, and allow extra time to reach your destination. Avoid sudden braking or acceleration, and be especially cautious on hills or when making turns.

Total snow accumulations between 4 and 9 inches, locally up to 10 inches over the higher elevations. * WHERE...A portion of central New York. * WHEN...Until 10 PM EST this evening. * IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult. Heavy wet snow could cause isolated to scattered power outages. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Valley locations in the advisory are forecast to receive between 2 to 5 inches of snow, with 5 to 10 inches expected over the higher elevations. This will be a dense, wet snowfall. Scattered power outages are possible. The steadiest snow will fall between 4 AM and 7 PM today..

In Vermont, Bennington and western Windham Counties. * WHEN...Until 1 AM EST Friday. * IMPACTS...Travel could be difficult.
