ONEIDA COUNTY- Two occupants of a Jeep and one person controlling an Amish manure spreader were all evaluated for injuries following a collision over the weekend in Oneida County.

It happened shortly after 5:00 p.m. Saturday on State Route 274, town of Western. Western Fire Department was the primary responder.

According to emergency officials, the wreck occurred after a Jeep smashed into an Amish manure spreader from behind.

The person controlling the team of horses was ejected from their position and landed into the spreader. Officials say that person was taken via a private vehicle to a local hospital for injury evaluation.

There were two occupants inside the Jeep, who both received evaluation for injuries. No names were released.

Specifics regarding any injuries were not mentioned by officials. As far as the horses go, emergency responders said they are under the care of the owners.

New York State Police, AmCare Ambulance and North Country Towing & Recovery all assisted on scene.

Mercy Flight was placed on standby, but ended up cancelled.
