CROGHAN- A local woman is accused of having a BAC level over twice the legal limit in the wake of a crash over the weekend in Lewis County, authorities say.
It was shortly before 7:00 a.m. Sunday when the Sheriff’s Office received alerts from 9-1-1 dispatch over a motor vehicle wreck in the town of Croghan.
As of this report, investigators have determined that Kelsey J. Hoch, 38, of Croghan, NY was traveling northeast on the Cross Road in a 2007 Hyundai Tucson.
It’s alleged that she failed to stop at a stop sign. She subsequently struck a road sign and ended up in a ditch.
After failing field sobriety tests on scene, police took Hoch to the Public Safety Building and during processing, it’s reported that she registered a .23% BAC.
Hoch was formally charged with Aggravated DWI, failing to stop at a stop sign and operating without valid insurance.
She was issued appearance tickets, which are returnable to Croghan Town Court at a later date.
Beller’s Towing assisted on scene.
