
WEBB- A woman was rescued after suffering an injury while hiking in the Western Adirondacks last weekend.
It was shortly before 1:00 p.m. Friday, October 11 when emergency dispatch received alerts that a 68-year-old woman from Fairport, NY had suffered an injury to her lower leg.
According to the DEC and their weekly Forest Ranger Highlights, the woman was about a quarter-mile from the Bald Mountain Trailhead.
Forest Ranger McCartney responded and helped splint her leg before transport.
Members from Old Forge Fire Department assisted by securing the woman into a wheeled litter and bringing her to an awaiting ambulance.
Specific injuries were not described by DEC personnel. There were no further details provided.
