REPORT: Fatal snowmobile accident reported Saturday night on Barnes Corners trail system

Reports have surfaced of a fatal snowmobile accident over the weekend on Tug Hill.

According to a social media post from the Barnes Corners-Sno Pals Snowmobile Club, there was a fatal snowmobile accident on their trail system.

Club officials said it happened sometime Saturday night, about one-mile east from the 7x9 road on Trail S57, or otherwise known as the Howard Forward Truck Trail.

As of this report, details still remain limited. We have no official word yet from emergency responders and we have no confirmation regarding how many snowmobile machines and/or victims were involved.

We are anticipating a further update from police investigators.

In the meantime, officials from the Barnes Corners Sno-Pals Snowmobile Club are urging riders to slow down and ride to the right.
