UPDATE: Authorities identify deceased victim in Boonville area multi-vehicle accident

BOONVILLE- The victim who perished this week in a multi vehicle accident just south of the village has been officially identified by police investigators.

According to Sheriff’s Investigators, Jessica R. Stephenson, 29, of Boonville, NY passed away after being struck from behind on State Route 12.

As previously reported, the accident occurred shortly after 4:00 p.m. Monday, as Stephenson was waiting to make a left-turn into a driveway when she was struck from behind and propelled into oncoming northbound traffic.

A portion of State Route 12 was closed down while emergency responders were on scene.

As of press time, the Sheriff’s Office said the investigation remains ongoing.
