UPDATE: Boonville woman accused in shoplifting case concealed over $500 worth of merchandise at Rome Walmart, Troopers say

ROME- Investigators have released an update regarding a shoplifting arrest this month for a woman from Northern Oneida County.

As previously reported, Victoria I. Maher, 44, of Boonville, NY was arrested last Thursday by the New York State Police (Lee) for one misdemeanor count of petit larceny.

In an updated release, State Police investigators allege that Maher concealed several merchandise in re-usable shopping bags at the Rome, NY Walmart Supercenter store.

Specifically, police said she failed to pay for 77 items while utilizing the self-checkout. The total value of merchandise rang in at $521.53, Troopers said.

Maher is due to answer her charge in Rome City Court at a later date.
