UPDATE: Underage Drinking Initiative conducted in Lewis County by State Police

On July 19th, 2024, the New York State Police conducted an Underage Drinking Initiative in Lewis County.

As a result of the initiative, the following locations were checked and found in compliance:

• Sliders – 6215 Number Four Rd, Lowville NY 13367

• Greig Store—5529 Greig Rd, Glenfield NY 13343

• Stewarts – 3906 SR 12, Lyons Falls NY 13368

• Cliffs Store – 3205 St Rt 12, Port Leyden NY 13433

• Stewarts – 7491 S. State St., Lowville NY 13367

• Fastrac – 5610 Shady Ave., Lowville NY 13367

• Lyons Falls Liquors—6085 McAlpine St., Lyons Falls NY 13368

• Kinney Drugs—7395 Utica Blvd., Lowville NY 13367

• Parkway Liquors—5405 Parkway Dr., Lowville NY 13367

• Hilltop Market – 1187 SR 26, West Leyden NY 13489

• A To Z Liquors – 7377 Utica Blvd, Lowville, NY 13367

• Dollar General – 9680 NY 812, Croghan, NY 13327

The following locations were found NOT to be in compliance with the laws dealing with the sale of alcohol to persons under the age of 21:

Sliders Food Mart – 9741 Main Street, Croghan, NY 13327 As a result, charges were filed against a 18 year old from of Croghan, NY, for Unlawfully Dealing with a Child 1st degree (PL 260.20) and Prohibitive Sale of Alcohol to a person under twenty-one years old (ABC 65-1).

Constableville Petroleum – 3033 SR 26, Constableville NY 13325As a result, charges were filed against 59 year old Sunit Gupta of Rochester, NY, for Unlawfully Dealing with a Child 1st degree (PL 260.20) and Prohibitive Sale of Alcohol to a person under twenty-one years old (ABC 65-1).

During these investigations, businesses are checked utilizing a Trooper in plain clothes and one or several underage operatives who cannot lie about their age or provide a false date of birth.
